Multiple google calendars on an iphone

I found this link on how to use shared calenders from google on the iphone. The description is in Swedish so for people not fluent in this beatiful language here is a short summary:

Make sure you have the calendars you want in google. Take one calendar at a time and do the following:
In google calendar click on settings->Calendars->The Calender you want to add->Calendar Address->ICAL
You will see an address that looks something like:”http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/tester%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics”

In the iPhone’s Settings -> Mail, contacts, Calendars > Add account … > Other > Add CalDAV-account > and write the following in the fields:

Server = http://www.google.com
User name = tester@gmail.com
Password = xxxxxxxx
Description = (E.g. Name of calendar)

Click next -> “Advanced settings” and paste the address you got from google above between dav/ -and- /user, i.e. dav/swedish__sv%40holiday.calendar.google.com/user. Let the text before “dav/” be unchanged.

Save and enter the calendar app to see that you have your first google calendar there. Repeat for the rest of your, your wifes, kids etc. calendars.

The above also saves the Exchange ActiveSync account for use with an exchange server.

Iphone issues

I got an iphone 3GS and broke it. It is a 3.0 and i recently got the icons messed up. I found a solution here! In short the solution is to move the cached icon list from springboard. The phone needs to be jail broken in order for the following to work. Login over ssh on the iphone and run the command below

mv /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.springboard-imagecache-icons.plist /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.springboard-imagecache-icons.plist.bak; killall  SpringBoard

If all went well remove the backup with

rm /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.springboard-imagecache-icons.plist.bak

Emacs history between sessions

I saw this somewhere and it works like charm. Add the below code to your .emacs to make it remember some things between sessions.

Bokföringsprogram för linux

Jag gjorde en sökning på nätet och såg att bokföringsprogrammet jag använder inte dök upp, det heter elicon och är ett program med webinterface. Det dök heller inte upp i datormagazins test för en tid sedan, synd för det är ett bra program.

Det finns som både windows och linux server, fördelen med det är att det förstår sig på svenska skatter och svensk moms / arbetsgivaravgifter etc. En annan sak som är trevlig är att det genererar skatte och momsdeklarationer med skatteverkets “rutnummer”.

Jag har kört det i två år nu och jag är nöjd, det enda som är lite knöligt är att f-skatten hänger ihop med momsbetalningen och det gör att jag får bokföra den manuelt två månader av tre då jag har tremånadersmoms.

Om du vill kan du göra om det till avi med (förutsatt att mencoder är installerad):

Och vidare till MP4 för psp med (förutsatt att ffplay är installerad):

ffmpeg -i julkalendern20.avi -title "Julkalendern 20" -f psp -r 29.97 -b 512k -ar 24000 -ab 64k -s 368x208 M4V00020.MP4

Convert movies to psp format on linux

You need ffmpeg installed. Run the following command:

ffmpeg -i  -title "" -f psp -r 29.97 -b 512k -ar 24000 -ab 64k -s 368x208 M4V00001.MP4</pre></p>
<p>for 16:9 format and use<br />
<pre class="brush: cpp;">-s 320x240</pre><br />
for 3:4 format.<br />
Copy the created file to the correct place on the psp.<br />

If you want you can create a thumbnail file named M4V00001.THM (same filename THM extension). It should be a jpg, 160×120 @ 72 dpi</p>
